Shaykh Yassin is a student of knowledge who took from the traditional school (maqra'a) of Morocco. Among his notable teachers is Shaykh Muhammad Abu Al-Yusr Al-Murrakuchi, a scholar who himself studied under eminent figures from Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Mauritania.

In the field of Quranic sciences, Shaykh Yassin studied under Shaykh Waleef, who holds ijāzah in the Ten Qira'āt — both Sughrā (minor) and Kubrā (major). He also benefited from Shaykh Zakariyya Al-Andalusi, under whom he studied Usool Al-Fiqh, Nahw, Hadith, and Qira'āt. Eager to deepen his knowledge, he undertook several travels to meet and study under scholars in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Shaykh Yassin is currently advancing his studies in the Seven Qira'āt through the method of Jam', and simultaneously studying three additional Qira'āt under a scholar from Algeria.

On the practical side, Shaykh Yassin has devoted nearly a decade to serving the Muslim community in the United Kingdom as an Imam and Khatib, and previously served as Imam for three years in France during his studies there.

He is the founder of MyMadrassa Institute, which operates both online and in person in Leicester. The institute serves approximately 300 students and has already produced over ten graduates who have received ijāzah under his supervision.

Academically, Shaykh Yassin holds a Bachelor's degree in Translation and is fluent in Arabic, French, and English. He is currently a Master's candidate at the Islamic University of Malaysia, specialising in the Sciences of the Qur'an.
